CONVENTIONAL SCREED
MK Leavey Floor Screeding Ltd can supply and lay a variety of sand and cement screeds. Below are some examples which we commonly use.
Conventional Screed - Convention screed is a mixture of sand, cement, polypropylene fibres and a minimal amount of water. Also called fibre screed. Usually the mix is 4:1. The fibres are added and dispersed during the mixing process. The fibres are incorporated to inhibit shrinkage and settlement cracking as well as increasing strength and durability.
Fast Drying Screed – Our fast drying sand and cement floor screed contains special additives which enable the screed to dry quicker and therefore allow any floor covering to be laid sooner rather than later.
Reinforced Screed – We can offer additional reinforcing to our screeds to offer a more robust floor for example a garage floor or in heavy plant rooms.
Traditional sand and cement floor screed is generally delivered on large 6 or 8 wheel tipper vehicles carrying a maximum of 15 or 20 tonnes of material respectively. However, if there are access issues, whether it be weight or height restrictions, smaller vehicles can be made available.

MK Leavey Floor Screeding Ltd has its own fleet of Putzmeister screed pumps so every
area to be screeded can be reached whether it be a basement, multistorey flats or a
floor with an undesirable access.
We also offer a service where we supply a ready-mix screed and remove all waste making no mess, by leaving the screed on the lorry/trailer, then taking away any excess screed. This option is well suited to self builds or builders with the need to have a floor laid in a landscaped area e.g. extensions, conservatories, patio areas, garages and car ports etc.
Floating floor and acoustic insulation installation
We can also install any insulation, sound deadening and gas membrane that is required, as well as any ridged insulation inclusive of damp proofing and slip membrane to prevent cold bridging. YELOfon HD10+ & HD5 and Isorubber are common sound deadeners that we use. So whatever details are in your drawings, MK Leavey Floor Screeding Ltd will have all your needs in hand.
